Description |
Initial (main) theme of the "Symphonic Fresco" was created in sketch in March 1987. Final expanded and revised version was created and orchestrated in April 2014. Package includes full conductor score and all parts.
Although piece does not posses explicit programme, nevertheless as its name suggests, it is a sort of musical "paintings" or pictures which include various moods and impressions, opening with main nostalgic theme (soft sections strings, slowly increasing in volume) metamorphosing itself into "long-breath" heroic one, then vanishing as if a marching band would pass by and recede into a distance. A short passage carries music right into the middle of violent ocean storm which, however, passes out equally fast as it arrives. On the background of steadily increasing in speed and volume arpeggios of section strings, echo of original theme slowly returns and asserts itself, first in minor, then in modulated major key. Dawn and sunrise. But good mood does not return quite yet, interrupted by some new dramatic material in development. Final bridge connects us directly to the original theme returning now in heroic triumph played by horns on the background of strings tremolo arpeggios, and short coda concludes the piece. |
