| This cute little march is from the 2nd act of "La statue" in the original, Théâtre Lyrique version, and thus was removed by Reyer, along other great pieces of music from that act, when he decided to redo his score for the purpose to present it in the Paris Opéra. That fragment follows the scene when Amgiad (still in disguise of Kaloum) reverse his order and grants hand of Margyane to Sélim. That march follows then immediately into the fierce dialogue-scene between real Kaloum and Mouck (servant of Sélim) which is omitted here. |
